DESCRIPTION:Participants will practice their cooking skills by helping prepare a Quick Combo Tortilla Soup. They will review the recipe before starting the process\, gather and measure ingredients\, follow recipe steps\, and clean-up directions. Participants will get to taste their finished product. This will enable the individual to be better equipped to independently use a knife and stovetop to prepare lunch or dinner.

DESCRIPTION:Participants will meet MHI staff at the Ceramic and Pottery Center in Dickinson where they will paint readymade pieces of pottery. Participants will get the opportunity to learn about the class offerings at the center and select the pieces they are interested in painting. By participating in this outing\, participants will learn about another venue they could go to with friends and family for social and recreational purposes. They will have a chance to socialize and create stronger connections with their peers while engaging in this creative outlet.\nNOTE: There is a charge for the pieces participants choose to paint.
